Most kiwi males still cling to the hope of playing a professional sport of some kind, even when well into their 40’s, but for our newest addition to the Business Development team, Glenn Preston, those dreams have already long been a reality. Having turned out for top teams both here and in Italy, as well as playing for NZ’s U20 team (a couple of moons ago), it’s safe to say that he has more right to comment on the current state of our beloved All Blacks than the rest of the BD team put together (not that this would let that stop them!). With his 1st job out of school being as a painter, it’s no surprise that since hanging up the boots, he ran his own painting business alongside his younger brother and more recently had a role selling Tiny Homes across the Auckland region. Outside of work (by his own admission), he watches more sport than he plays, and a secret source (who may or may not be his wonderful wife) tells us that he’s not afraid to shed a tear or two watching a Disney film with his daughter.
Meet Kadyn Webster: Sales and Project Management Expert Turned Surfer Extraordinaire. With 11 years of experience in the building industry, Kadyn excels in handling every aspect of projects from start to finish. While his painting skills are self-taught (thanks, COVID!), his passion lies in surfing and rugby. When he's not catching waves or cheering on his favourite teams, you can find him spinning beats as an electronic music producer. Kadyn lives by the motto 'You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,' and his only fear? Missing out on a good surf session.
When Freeman put down his tools and took this job, he knew there would be changes – first and foremost, his three pies a day ‘painter’s diet’. We think that’s a pretty impressive pie tally, given that he’s been in the industry for more than 30 years. All that experience means that he’s been there, done that, and knows all the tricks. He’s a big believer in straight talk and will be the first to admit if he doesn’t know something. In his spare time – wait, there’s no such thing for Freeman. A machine in constant motion, Freeman is into boogie boarding, family camp outs and yoga, and is still rocking around obscure spots in Auckland on his skateboard. He’s started taking his son Quinn along, and is getting nervous at how good the young fella is getting…
Meet Jared, our Jack-of-all-trades and the man with a colorful past! Formerly the Picasso of paint in Auckland, Jared owned and operated his own painting company for 8 years. He then took a brief detour as the ringmaster at Michael Hill, managing the glittering world of jewelry for just under a year, before donning the hard hat as a site manager at Aspec Construction for over a year. When he’s not conquering the professional world, Jared’s a sports enthusiast. Golf is his zen, even if the ball has a mind of its own. Darts, tennis, and backyard cricket are all fair game, and when the weekend hits, he’s out and about with his better half—whether it’s crafting clay bowls, forging knives, or trying not to burn the picnic. An early riser at 6ft 9, Jared beats the sun to the punch at 5:30/6 am, armed with a cuppa, a hearty breakfast, and a mission to tackle the day. They say the early bird gets the worm, but Jared’s not too sure what he’d do with a worm.
