He’s spent 20 years working with the major players in the industry, so Glenn’s friendly face is pretty well-known around Tauranga. Quick with the banter, Glenn’s approach is all about finding a way to make sure everyone wins. It’s not surprising really – his partner Angela is in sales too, so being good with deals is a family hobby. But enough about ‘work Glenn’ – just as important is ‘mad dog fisherman Glenn’. When he’s not trapped by the home renovations, Glenn takes off from Papamoa Beach in his pride and joy, a 6.5m fibreglass boat called ‘AceSea DeSea’. Kingfishers off the coast can sense him coming – and so can we, because every time he gets a good haul he lets everyone at Carus know.
Mad about rugby, but not quite being able to match his aspirations for a black jersey with actual ability on the park, Rob chose a job that would challenge him just as much as running a backline would, and hasn’t looked back since. Having worked his way up the ladder over the years, Rob brings valuable experience drawn from all sides of the industry – making him and project management a match made in heaven. While weekdays are for organizing painting and scaffolding, Rob’s kids fill his weekends with endless adventures, and bring a whole added dimension to the idea of being kept on his toes… He wouldn’t have it any other way though, this much was clear when we asked Rob what gets him out of bed in the morning and his response was: “If you work hard yourself, then when it’s comes their turn, your kids don’t have to”.
Meet Bryce Payne! With 15 years of experience in the painting and maintenance industry, Bryce loves working with good people to find practical solutions. He’s led teams through a wide range of projects, always delivering on time and within budget. Painting is a family tradition—his dad owned a Resene paint shop, and Bryce spent his school holidays painting roofs. After completing a building apprenticeship and working as an abseiler inspecting high-rises, he’s left the climbing to the younger ones. Bryce is adjusting to life as an empty nester. Now back in the Bay of Plenty, he’s excited to spend more time fishing, at the beach, or playing golf.
