To operate as environmentally friendly as possible, we are Enviro-Mark Diamond certified - with a robust EMS (Environmental Management System) in place; including systems that ensure our plans and policies are followed. We exceed the requirements of ISO 14001, one of the world’s best known environmental standards.
Enviro-Mark Diamond Certification
Enviro-Mark Diamond is the ultimate step in the Environmental Management System journey. To achieve this certification we have included the following into our Carus environmental policy:
Control all important documentation to ensure only the most up to date versions are being used;
Have an internal EMS audit programme in operation, ensuring expected outcomes are occurring as planned;
Periodically review the performance of the EMS by top management;
Formalise roles and responsibilities for people working for and on behalf of the organisation;
Communicate appropriately both internally and externally;
Ensure appropriate training is given to people working with the EMS;
Document all procedures relating to managing the system;
Have a good system for managing problems (non-conformities and opportunities for improvement);
Set objectives and targets for driving improvement and have programmes in place to meet those targets;
Develop, implement and test environmental emergency plans;
Identify and evaluate our significant environmental issues arising from activities, products and services;
Actively monitor ongoing compliance with New Zealand legislation and ensure we’re aware of any changes to obligations;
Produce an environmental policy statement;
Understandsthe scope of our EMS (i.e., are there any parts of the organisation that need to be excluded from the EMS and why);
Exhibit no non-compliances with New Zealand’s applicable health and safety and environmental legislation.
